Sobre o paper:

ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the theme of microcredits through the analysis of the major existing experience in Brazil, the Banco do Nordeste’s Crediamigo. We present a description of the program and  a quantitative analysis of its impacts on the access to credit by small productive units located in Brazilian urban areas phis performance. This is done by using  using microdata from Ecinf survey implemented in 1997 and of 2003 by IBGE, using the method of differences in differences applied with logistic regressions.  Our substantive conclusion is that there is a high scale microcredit experience in Brazil based on social collateral that generated a relative access to credit in the poorest region of the country at superior rates from the rest of the country.
