Marcelo Neri holds a lecture on inclusive and sustainable development for administration students
The lecture preceded the award of the “Top CR” students, who had a semiannual highlight in the FGV EBAPE In-Person Technology Undergraduate Course.

Professor Marcelo Neri, economist, former Chief Minister of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the President of the Republic and Director of FGV Social, ministered the aula magna of the undergraduate course of FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) on March 18. During the activity, the guest spoke on the subject “Brasil, desenvolvimento inclusivo sustentável? Contribuições para a administração pública e privada a partir de microdados sociais” (“Brazil, sustainable inclusive development? Contributions to public and private administration based on social microdata”) for the new students of FGV.

The subject provided the students and guests with a moment of reflection on the current stage of development of Brazil and how to include the poorest in this context. Prof. Marcelo Neri also stressed the importance of youth engagement in the discussion on the Social Security Reform. According to him, “Social Security, above all, is more than transferring the poor and the rich – it is about passing a bill to your generation. That is what needs to be balanced.”

The lecture preceded the award of the “Top CR” students, who had a semiannual highlight in the FGV EBAPE In-Person Technology Undergraduate Course.  The ceremony was attended by the faculty and students of the School, Professor Carla Soares, Academic Coordinator of the Undergraduate Degree, Professor Lucas Zarconi, Executive Coordinator of the Technology Undergraduate Course, Professor Henrique Heidtmann, Head of the Center for Undergraduate Studies, and Professor Flavio Vasconcelos, the School’s Dean.

“Events such as this, which reveal the highly positive results of our students, are of crucial importance, reflecting the good work developed in the country’s best School of Administration,” said Professor Carla Soares.

In turn, Professor Lucas Zarconi noted that the award of the best students is an important initiative of EBAPE, as it highlights the quality of its students and serves as a stimulus for their good academic performance.
