Fundação Getulio Vargas, on behalf of FGV Projetos, represented Brazil on the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Meeting in Paris. A knowledge partner of the organization since 2010, FGV – deemed as one of the best 30 world think tanks – addresses gender equality, education, employment, entrepreneurship and new socio-economic models along with representatives from member countries and guests, such as Argentina and South Africa, besides the organization's own committee.

 
The chief economist of the Center for Social Policies (CPS), Marcelo Neri, attended the panel The Squeezed and Emerging Middle Classes, which approached the changes the middle class has been going through in several countries. While in the developed countries the middle class has been suffering from unemployment, marginalization and loss of purchasing power, in the emerging and developing economies it has been growing, as in Brazil, with new opportunities and more active participation.
 
The OECD also included Brazil in its Better Life Index – a comparative ranking that measures up the happiness of citizens from all over the world – a project that FGV takes part. The index is based on official data collected through approximately 10 topics rated by online visitors, and has the purpose to assist in the elaboration of public policies. Among the 36 countries ranked, Brazil is the 34th position, despite the new middle class rise. Studies on happiness are in the book “The Middle Class: the brilliant side of the bottom of the pyramid”, by Marcelo Neri.
 
The FGV Projetos director Cesar Cunha Campos and the economist and researcher of EPGE took part of the Ideafactory, a workshop dedicated to discuss genders, analyzing women's and men's incentives and preferences to make their decisions in terms of study, work and family.
